Primeau has a 1-2-0 record, 3.98 GAA and .885 save percentage in three contests this season. He surrendered six goals on 42 shots in a 6-5 loss to Vegas in his previous start last Thursday. The Sharks, who rank last offensively with 1.47 goals per game, are likely to give Primeau less trouble.

Seattle was called up by Seattle on Nov. 14, but he didn't end up playing for the Kraken. He has two goals and seven points in 10 contests with Coachella Valley this season.

12h agoBjornfot's undisclosed injury is "thankfully nothing major," AHL Ontario coach Marco Sturm told Jared Shafran of LA Kings Insider on Thursday.
Bjornfot was with Ontario on a conditioning loan when he was stretchered off the ice during a game Tuesday. The Kings placed him on injured reserve Wednesday. Sturm noted that Bjornfot won't be ready to play this weekend, but the 22-year-old defenseman should be available soon.

The move is presumably retroactive to Nov. 11, which is when Klingberg last played. If that's the case, the earliest he can be activated is Dec. 12 for Toronto's game against the Rangers. Klingberg has five assists, 11 hits and 14 blocks in 14 contests this campaign. Conor Timmins (lower body) is day-to-day at this point, so the defenseman might be activated off LTIR soon and play regularly while Klingberg is unavailable.

This is great news for Andrei Vasilevskiy (back surgery) and his fantasy managers as he is expected to return to action Friday versus Carolina or Monday in Colorado. Tomkins was 1-2-0, giving up 10 goals on 90 shots in his three appearances. He will be returned to AHL Syracuse, should he pass through waivers.

The Coyotes continue to shuffle their centers around with Barrett Hayton (upper body) on injured reserve. Kerfoot was on the third line with Michael Carcone -- whose goal he assisted on -- and Jason Zucker to begin Wednesday's contest. Kerfoot has three points over his last six games, but he's been limited to six points, 23 shots on net, 10 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating through 19 outings overall.

Boyd's promotion to the top line lasted one game. Boyd has three helpers over his last six games, and he's up to six assists, 10 shots on net and 10 blocked shots through 13 appearances this season.

Keller snapped a two-game mini-slump with the assist as the Coyotes' offense broke out of a funk. The 25-year-old is up to 18 points and 57 shots on net through 19 outings, but thats' come with 16 PIM and a minus-9 rating. Keller has earned 10 of his points on the power play, though the Coyotes went 0-for-2 with two shorthanded goals against in that situation Wednesday.

Schmaltz briefly gave the Coyotes a 5-4 lead in the second period, but their offense stalled out there. The 27-year-old was consistent in October, but he's faced in November with just two points over his last six games. For the season, Schmaltz has five goals, 10 helpers, 43 shots on net, seven power-play points and a minus-8 rating while playing on the top line.

He's bounced around the Oilers' lineup a bit but most often fills a middle-six role.

16h agoThe Blackhawks announced Thursday that Hall will undergo knee surgery and will not return this season.
Hall was acquired by Chicago in June with the hope that he would see first line minutes with Connor Bedard. But Hall was injured in training camp and then suffered a shoulder injury on Opening Night. Upon his return in early November, Hall had two goals in his first two games and then suffered a knee injury versus Tampa Bay on Nov. 9. Hall still has two years remaining on the four-year deal he signed with the Bruins in July of 2021. Expect him to be ready to go at training camp in September.

17h agoMerzlikins turned aside 33 shots in Wednesday's 7-3 win over Chicago.
While he lost focus a little bit in the third period after Columbus had built a 7-1 lead, Merzlikins was sharp for two periods and gave the visitors no hint of momentum toward a comeback. The win snapped a five-start losing streak in which the 29-year-old had gone 0-4-1 with a 3.76 GAA, and while Merzlikins is playing better than he did in 2022-23, he has yet to lock into the form that made the Blue Jackets believe he could be Sergei Bobrovsky's replacement as the team's franchise goalie. On the season, Elvis is 4-6-3 with a 3.28 GAA and .899 save percentage.
