Player Outlook
After earning a reputation as one of the most consistent producers in Fantasy, Cooks' production cratered in 2022. The combination of an offensive system that didn't feature his skill set (low average depth of target until the midseason point) and off-field concerns (Cooks expected to be traded to a contender around the deadline) resulted in a receiver you couldn't trust on a weekly basis. However, Cooks remained excellent at defeating man coverage even when the ball didn't come his way. Now he has a real opportunity to return value with a massive quarterback upgrade, and he joins an offense with vacated targets and production (Dalton Schultz). Draft him starting in Round 8 as WR3 with upside to settle into your WR2 role on a weekly basis and return to his consistent production.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Finds end zone again Thursday

Cooks caught four of five targets for 72 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 45-10 rout of the Commanders. Despite the low target volume, Cooks led the Cowboys in receiving yards as Dak Prescott spread the ball around and completed passes to 10 different players. The veteran speedster was also on the end of the second of four Prescott TD passes on the day, a 31-yard toss in the second quarter on which a wide-open Cooks didn't seem to have a defender within five yards of him. After a slow start to his Dallas tenure, he's found the end zone four times in the last six games, although his Thanksgiving performance was only the second time all year he's topped 50 receiving yards. Cooks will look to keep rolling in Week 13 against the Seahawks.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

Cooks cooled off in Week 11 at Carolina with three catches for 42 yards on four targets, but I expect him to get back on track in Week 12 against the Commanders. Prior to Week 11, Cooks had scored at least 14.2 PPR points in three of his past four games. This is a dream matchup since Washington struggles with big plays, and the Commanders are No. 3 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. While CeeDee Lamb should go off on Thanksgiving, I would trust Cooks as a high-end No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Makes three grabs

Cooks caught three of four targets for 42 yards in Sunday's 33-10 win over the Panthers. Cooks led the Cowboys in receiving despite his production paling in comparison to his Week 10 173-yard outburst. Although he's scored in three of his last five outings, Cooks' output Sunday was closer to his average throughout the campaign. With that in mind, he carries modest value into Thursday's game against the Commanders.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Sleeper WRs

Cooks is coming off a huge game in Week 10 against the Giants with nine catches for 173 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets, but he's been playing well of late and should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues. He's now scored a touchdown in three of his past four games, and hopefully Dak Prescott continues to give Cooks more targets moving forward. This week, I hope Prescott and the passing game stays hot for the Cowboys against the Panthers, who should struggle to slow down almost anything Dallas wants to do offensively.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Week 11 Waiver Priority List

Cooks had a huge game in Week 10 against the Giants with nine catches for 173 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets, and he's now scored a touchdown in three of his past four games. With the way Dak Prescott has played lately, you want receivers associated with the Cowboys, and Cooks is the No. 3 option in the passing game behind CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson. Cooks should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues heading into Week 11 at Carolina, and he's worth adding for 5-10 percent of your FAB.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Erupts for season-best numbers

Cooks caught nine of 10 targets for 173 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 49-17 rout of the Giants. The veteran speedster not only had his best game as a Cowboy so far, he topped his prior season high in receiving yards by 124. Cooks led the team in yards, although CeeDee Lamb bested him in catches (11) and targets (14), and he's now scored a TD in three of the last four games as the Dallas passing game has roared to life. Cooks will look to keep rolling Week 11 against the Panthers.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Week 11 Early Waiver Targets (Add/Drop)

It took a while, but the Cowboys finally figured out how to use Brandin Cooks in Week 9. Cooks, who entered Sunday's game with just 165 yards in the first seven games, torched the Giants for 173 yards on nine catches. Of course, it was the Giants, in a game where the Cowboys probably could have done whatever they wanted. The fact is, though, that they wanted to get Cooks going, as he was targeted on seven of Dak Prescott's 24 first-half passes, going over the century mark with a score before halftime. Whether this will prove sustainable remains to be seen, and my guess is this will end up being by far the best game of Cooks' season. But if he can even come close to it, he'll be a very useful Fantasy option.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Held to one catch

Cooks caught one of two targets for seven yards in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. The veteran wideout had gotten into the end zone in two straight games coming into Sunday, but Cooks was barely involved in the offense despite the fact that Dak Prescott threw for 374 yards on 44 attempts. Cooks has seen more than four targets in a game only once, and while he still has some big-play potential, the 30-year-old just doesn't seem to be clicking in Dallas. He'll look to bounce back Week 10 against the Giants.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Sneaky Sleeper (Lineup Decisions)

If you start Cooks, you're hoping the Cowboys harness his speed and take some shots with him against a suddenly susceptible Philadelphia secondary. Given the likelihood of a high-scoring game, Cooks could get involved more than usual as a change-up to CeeDee Lamb. Cooks is a risk worth taking over Michael Thomas, Tyler Boyd, Rashee Rice and Nathaniel Dell.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Week 9 Waiver Priority List

Cooks has now scored in consecutive games for the Cowboys, and he could be on the verge of becoming a weekly starter in most Fantasy leagues. The drawback is he's only combined for seven catches for 85 yards on eight targets against the Chargers and Rams to go with the touchdowns, but more could be on the horizon. It's worth stashing him to find out, and I expect him to be the second-best receiver in Dallas for the remainder of the season behind CeeDee Lamb. Cooks is worth adding in all leagues for up to 5 percent of your FAB.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Another touchdown catch

Cooks recorded three receptions on four targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 43-20 win over the Rams. CeeDee Lamb dominated targets in the blowout win, leaving Cooks tied with Jake Ferguson for the second-highest mark on the team. Despite the limited volume, Cooks had a decent fantasy performance thanks to a 25-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter. He now has a score in consecutive games, though his season-best yardage total is just the 49 he put up Sunday, and he has topped four targets only once this season.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

I'm hopeful that Cooks finally developed a rapport with Dak Prescott in Week 6 at the Chargers prior to the bye week. Against the Chargers, Cooks caught his first touchdown of the season and finished with four receptions for 36 yards on four targets, along with one carry for 14 yards. He was making off-script plays with Prescott, and maybe there's finally a comfort factor for Cooks after a slow start. CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup and Jake Ferguson will obviously continue to command targets for the Cowboys, but hopefully Cooks can start making more plays, including in Week 8 against the Rams. I like him as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy receiver against his former team.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Week 8 Waiver Priority List

Prior to the Cowboys' bye in Week 7, Cooks showed some signs of life in Week 6 at the Chargers with four catches for 36 yards and a touchdown on four targets, and he had one carry for 14 yards. Michael Gallup still had more targets than Cooks against the Chargers, and clearly CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson are a big part of the passing game. But it appeared like Cooks was moving better after dealing with a knee injury earlier this season, and Dak Prescott was looking for Cooks on plays out of the pocket. He might go back to being a non-factor after the bye, but I'd like to see what Cooks does against the Rams in Week 8. He's worth adding for 1 percent of your FAB.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Finds end zone in Week 6 win

Cooks secured all four targets for 36 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for 14 yards in the Cowboys' 20-17 win over the Chargers on Monday. Cooks' modest yardage total was nevertheless a season high, and he propped up it up with a two-yard scoring grab early in the fourth quarter that served as his first touchdown in a Cowboys uniform. The veteran speedster has strictly played a complementary role thus far in Dallas' air attack, and he'll next face his former Rams squad during a Week 8 home matchup on Sunday, Oct. 29 following a Week 7 bye.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Minimal role again

Cooks caught one of four targets for seven yards and added six rushing yards on one carry in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. The veteran wideout once again had trouble getting on the same page as Dak Prescott, although the entire Dallas offense struggled in San Francisco. Cooks has yet to top 27 receiving yards in any of his first four games as a Cowboy, but a breakout could be coming Week 6 against a Chargers secondary that's given up six touchdowns to WRs through four contests.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Four grabs against Pats

Cooks caught all four of his targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 38-3 win over the Patriots. The four grabs were a season high for the veteran wideout, who continues to be a victim of the Cowboys' success on the defensive side of the ball. With Dak Prescott not needing to stretch the field or air it out too much, Cooks hasn't had a big role. That could change Week 5 in what figures to be a much more competitive game against the undefeated 49ers.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Quiet showing in loss to Cards

Cooks caught two of seven targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 28-16 loss to the Cardinals. Four different Cowboys tied for the team lead with seven targets, but Cooks was the least productive of the bunch as he struggled to gain separation against a surprisingly stout Arizona secondary. The veteran wideout has had a very quiet start to his Dallas tenure, and it could be a while before Cooks begins to make an impact. The Cowboys host the Patriots in Week 4 before a road game against the 49ers in Week 5.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Ready to return Sunday

Cooks (knee) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game at Arizona. Cooks emerged from Week 1 action with an MCL sprain, which kept him off the practice field last week before ultimately being inactive this past Sunday versus the Jets. This week, the 10th-year pro opened it with a limited session Wednesday, but he ended it with back-to-back full practices to clear him for Week 3. Cooks thus will get a chance to make his first big mark as a Cowboy against a Cardinals defense that has allowed the seventh-most YPC (9.5) to opposing wide receivers through two games this season.

  • Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Gets back to full participation

Cooks (knee) practiced in full Thursday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Coach Mike McCarthy relayed to Todd Archer of ESPN.com earlier Thursday that Cooks would be "good to go," but such a statement doesn't always equate to all activity during a given practice. Cooks was able to handle every rep Thursday, setting himself up to contain his DNP streak to one game due to a MCL sprain. Friday's injury report will unveil whether or not he goes into the weekend with a designation for Sunday's contest at Arizona.
