Walker picked up two assists, one on the power play and one shorthanded, in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets. Both points came early in the second period, as Walker slipped the puck to Bobby Brink on the man advantage for the Flyers' second goal -- and Walker's first power-play point of the year -- before causing a Columbus turnover in his own end about five minutes later that created a two-on-nothing break for Ryan Poehling and Garnet Hathaway which Poehling converted. Walker is emerging as one of head coach John Tortorella's most trusted blueliners, seeing a career-high average of 21:05 per contest in 2023-24. The 29-year-old has a four-game point streak going in which he's amassed one goal and six points. On the season, he's recorded three goals, 10 points, 32 shots on net, 31 blocked shots, 28 hits, 10 PIM and a plus-6 rating through 18 contests.... See More ... See Less

The 28-year-old was able to torment his former team by assisting on the Flyers' first two goals of the contest. He's up to two goals, four assists, 26 shots on net, 27 blocked shots, 22 hits, six PIM and a plus-5 rating through 15 outings this season, primarily playing in a top-four role.... See More ... Walker was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Wednesday, per CapFriendly. Walker was able to shake off a shoulder injury from the IIHF World Championship to participate in camp, but he fell short of making the roster. The 24-year-old winger had two points in his first nine NHL games last season, so he could be an in-season call-up when the Wild are dealing with injuries.... See More ... See Less -

Kings' Sean Walker: Doesn't get much ice time
Walker averaged a career-low 14:50 of ice time in 2022-23 after averaging 18:33 over the previous three campaigns. Kings' Sean Walker: Slips helper in blowout win
Walker notched an assist and went plus-4 in Monday's 8-2 win over the Flames. Walker has two helpers, 10 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over his last three contests. It's also a good sign that the Kings lost the game he was scratched for March 18, which should encourage head coach Todd McLellan to keep the 28-year-old blueliner in the lineup at least until Sean Durzi (upper body) returns. Walker has 12 points, 85 shots on net, 91 blocked shots, 62 hits, 34 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 61 appearances.... See More ... See Less -

He's averaged just 14:46 of ice time in 2022-23, and his role has been trending downward with him averaging 13:03 over his last nine outings. With his limited responsibilities, Walker isn't likely to make regular offensive contributions.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Samuel Walker: Summoned by Minnesota
Walker was called up by Minnesota on Thursday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. Walker has a goal in six games with Minnesota this season. At the AHL level, he's contributed 24 goals and 44 points in 50 contests with Iowa in 2022-23. Kirill Kaprizov sustained a lower-body injury during Wednesday's contest versus Winnipeg, so Walker might draw into the lineup Saturday against San Jose.... See More ... See Less -
